I am honored to participate in the Maine Media Workshop’s event, Convening: a critical dialogue on the history and future of media arts, alongside photographers and scholars I’ve greatly admired: Deborah Willis, Wendy Red Star, Lola Flash Danny Dawson and Hông-Ân Tru’o’ng. Moderated by Séan Alonzo Harris, this conversation will explore the critical perspectives in the field of photography at the intersection of culture and race.
I will be briefly introducing my work, discuss the history of Latinx photography in relation to En Foco, the Center for Photography at Woodstock’s Artist in Residence program, and the importance of archives and the future of the field.
